Imperial Events Security Services (IESS) is currently accepting applications for the position of Event Security Officer assigned to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Our Event Security Officers are the face of our organization and are dedicated to providing outstanding customer service to the attendees, and guests of the many events we secure. Event Security Officers achieve their objective by being knowledgeable in the venue, event, and area in which they are working. They are considered customer service representatives and ambassadors of the event, venue, city, state, and even the country as many of the people they come into contact with may be visiting from other parts of the country or world.  Each assignment brings a unique set of requirements the Event Security Officer must be able to adapt to and execute while always providing outstanding service with a smile and an upbeat, friendly personality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Event Security Officers may be asked to perform several essential functions at their assigned location. The list below is not meant to be an exhaustive list of essential functions.
  • Greet and interact with guests in an upbeat, friendly, and personable manner
  • Stand at assigned post and maintain a level of alertness and awareness to the surroundings
  • Patrol the facility on foot as directed by the supervisor
  • Assist guests and client representatives as needed
  • Respond to, report, and document any incidents or issues of which you become aware
  • Provide outstanding customer service to everyone you come into contact with during each and every shift
  • Be able to properly wear their assigned company uniform
  • Protect the various pieces of art on display in your assigned gallery(ies)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings as directed by the supervisor
  • Adequately handle, report, and document all security issues and emergency situations at your location
  • Be able and willing to become certified in site-specific trainings
  • Have full knowledge of the venue
  • Be able to effectively communicate via two-way radio device to IESS or venue staff
  • Be able and willing to work an entire shift with the understanding that absolutely no cell phone use is permitted while on post

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing 
  • Must have a clean criminal history
  • Must be drug-free
  • Must have a flexible schedule which includes working some nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Be able to work an agreed upon schedule
  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (up to 12 hours)
  • Must have at least 3 years experience in the security, customer service, or hospitality fields
  • Must provide a current resume outlining relevant experience
  • Must understand that being offered the position requires successfully passing a minimum of two formal interviews
  • Neat and professional appearance
  • Upbeat, friendly, and personable demeanor
  • Must be able to handle urgent situations with calm and poise
